Lindsey first began training for her YACEP, 200-ERYT, 500-RYT, and Trauma Yoga Certifications in 2014. Growing up in the mountains above Salt Lake City, Utah, and spending her childhood out in nature helped Lindsey experience a deeper peace and connection to herself that was transformational.
For over twenty years now she has devoted herself to working with individuals and communities through recovery-based yoga classes, teaching compassion and to be appreciative for what life brings each day.
Yoga has played the principal role in helping Lindsey find the inner peace, beauty, surrender and strength that is the essence of who she is and for others. Perhaps the greatest gift that yoga brings to recovery is the rediscovery of a person’s authentic self and the ability to share that with others.

Matt grew up in Weston, Wisconsin. Like many young Wisconsin boys, Matt dreamed of playing college hockey and even skating professionally in the NHL. But, as life would have it, Matt’s own personal struggle with substance abuse paired with some mental health issues got the better of him. In 2021, after years of battling substance abuse, Matt enrolled himself into Spirit Mountain Recovery’s Residential Treatment Program in Eden, Utah.
After 90 days of primary residential care and his sobriety on solid ground, Matt enthusiastically transitioned himself into a full-time peer support specialist position at Spirit Mountain where he has been progressing professionally in the roles in which he serves. Blessed with the gift of desperation, Matt found that recovery was possible through a willingness to lean into the uncomfortable, follow the direction of others, and do the emotional work required for sustained sobriety.
Now over two years sober, Matt’s newfound passion for working with others in recovery at Spirit Mountain is chiefly motivated by his own successful recovery from substance abuse and believing that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a happy, healthy, and free lifestyle. It is Matt’s belief that acceptance, honesty, commitment, physical well-being, and vulnerability practiced “one day at a time” are the keys to his sustained recovery.

Shon was raised by her father, John, a recovered addict/alcoholic, who has worked in the treatment industry for over 20 years. Even being so, Shon continued to struggle with addiction on and off through her teens and twenties. Having been able to sustain her sobriety for as long as 4 years she inevitably relapsed which then led to a journey through 9 inpatient and outpatient programs all over the United States trying to stay sober.
Shon is thankful to each program for their wisdom and support on her journey in sustained sobriety for giving her the tools to choose life. As a result, Shon relates well to the addicts who have been in and out of multiple treatment center programs. She understands the mindset of the addicts who think that their abstinence from drugs for however long and that they are not addicts anymore, or can control their drug use, is such a delusional myth. Shon’s compassion for these types of addicts and their loved ones was born from hard learned personal experience.
Solidly sober for over 6 years now, Shon recognizes that being of service is one of the most important parts of her being able to sustain her sobriety. In addition to serving as Spirit Mountain Recovery’s National Accounts Director, Shon sponsors women in their recoveries and is the co-host of The Recover Rx podcast. She is also an artist. Her paintings have been featured in art shows, as well as on the cover of The Recover Rx Book published in 2020.
