We provide Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) in Ogden, Utah for drug addiction, alcohol abuse and co-occurring mental health issues for male and female adults aged 18 or older.  The Intensive Outpatient Program, like our Residential and Day Treatment Programs, begins by first assessing where an individual is at in their addiction and then performing a dual diagnosis of any underlying mental health issues that may be contributing to the addictive behavior.

Based on these above assessments, an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) is then developed that will form the basis for treatment.  This ITP can be adjusted at any time based on the progress an individual is or is not making in their treatment.  At Spirit Mountain, both the addiction and underlying mental health issues are treated simultaneously so as to help assure your complete recovery.

Our IOP in Ogden is typically scheduled on an hourly basis for up to nine (9) hours per week with one of Spirit Mountain’s esteemed addiction treatment therapists and involve a comprehensive range of evidence-based treatment therapies which may be supplemented by other non-clinically based modalities as deemed appropriate. Spirit Mountain Behavioral Health’s professional staff is also able to work in coordination with your current medical doctor to assure that your medicinal needs are accommodated during your treatment.

A key to the intensive outpatient treatment program is its flexibility in the types of treatment you will receive and the time periods you can devote to that treatment.  Treatment times are set to accommodate your work schedule, insurance, school and family obligations.  Our IOP treatment program in Ogden, UT typically involves:

Depending on the individual’s needs, outpatient treatment can be an excellent means of obtaining substance abuse recovery help.

Substance abuse and addiction is a complicated issue, potentially impacting all areas of one’s life–work, health, and interpersonal relationships–to begin with. Hopefully, at some point, a person in the grips of drug or alcohol addiction will reach out for help. Thankfully, there are many settings and levels of addiction treatment available to provide recovery assistance. After an assessment from a doctor or other qualified addiction medicine professional, some will be referred for outpatient treatment.

What is Outpatient Treatment?

There are a number of treatment options for those struggling with substance abuse. One option is an intensive outpatient program.

These centers are an excellent option for those who know they need help for drug abuse or alcoholism but are unable to stop working or attending school to get it.

Intensive outpatient programs do vary but basically, they provide assistance a few times a week for a limited amount of hours. Outpatient treatment centers provide a level of flexibility that many individuals require, but its effectiveness can be limited, especially for those who need medical as well as psychological recovery services.

Benefits of Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment is appropriate for those whose condition is sufficiently stable, whose symptoms are mild, and are willing to participate in the treatment plan.

With that in mind, there are many potential benefits to seeking treatment on an outpatient basis.

For one, outpatient treatment can be delivered through various settings:

  • In a doctor’s or psychologist’s office.
  • From a community clinic.
  • From a dedicated addiction treatment clinic equipped for outpatient care.
  • Even over the phone, in some cases.

Additionally, the daily schedule can be adjusted in many outpatient programs to allow sufficient time for school and/or work commitments.

It should be emphasized that it is of utmost importance to first receive a thorough evaluation and detailed examination of your specific drug abuse issues from someone qualified to make the recommendation for outpatient treatment.
