An Escape from Addiction
The Spirit Mountain Mindfulness-Based Recovery Program (SM-MBRP) is a set of proprietary mindfulness-based recovery regimens developed by Spirit Mountain Recovery from its treatment of adult men for Substance Use and Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders over the past 5 years. Most of this treatment having been done outdoors in nature from our residence which is located on the side of a mountain in the beautiful Ogden Valley of Northern Utah.
The Program’s goal is to assist clients in becoming more consciously aware of their senses, emotions, and thoughts, without interpretation or judgment. Where they learn to access this new state-of-being by directing their attention to the present moment. They learn to access this new state-of-being through meditation, focused breathing exercises and yoga..
It is in this enlightened state-of-mind where clients will have the best chance of transcending from the self-absorbed, self-centered behavior of their past drug use to being rooted in a new state of alert conscious presence. From having been solely identified with their past toxic ego, to having discovered a new, deeper, formless, more powerful, more consciously aware, sense of themselves.
By learning to live life in this new state of conscious presence, clients will discover how they can make more appropriate and healthier life choices like abstaining from using drugs as a solution to problems in their lives. Where they will also experience piece-of-mind once thought impossible while they were in their addiction.

Spirit Mountain’s Mindfulness-Based Program of Extended Care (SM-MBEC) for Substance Use and Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders is for adult men who have completed their first 20-45 days in primary addiction care at Spirit Mountain Recovery or any other substance use and mental health disorder treatment center. The SM-MBEC Program provides highly accountable continued treatment for up to as long as 1 year in 30-day increments for as long as practical.
The SM-BMEC Program’s treatment residence is located out in nature in the mountains of Utah which is the preferred environment, but is also provided on an Outpatient basis as well from Spirit Mountain Behavioral Health office in Roy, Utah. The program provides highly accountable care so greatly needed in being able to maintain sobriety in early recovery.
Statistics indicate that after 1 year of sustained sobriety, the relapse rate for those who have struggled with severe opioid and alcohol addiction drops from 90% within the first year to 15%.
The Spirit Mountain Mindfulness-Based Extended Care Program™ is a trade name used to delineate a type of treatment service performed under the State of Utah Substance Abuse Treatment Licenses of Spirit Mountain Recovery and Spirit Mountain Behavioral Health, Eden and Roy, Utah, respectively.
