Patient Brokering / Travel Reimbursement Prohibited
Spirit Mountain Recovery strictly prohibits its management, consultants and employees from being involved in any type of transaction or payment, perk or other form of compensation that could be construed to be Patient Brokering. Patient Brokering is the unethical and illegal practice of third-party agents or treatment centers enticing someone suffering with substance abuse or addiction to enroll in a specific treatment program in return for a financial benefit to be received by themselves or a client.
Types of prohibited transactions also include agents or treatment centers paying or reimbursement made for travel to a treatment center, financial kickbacks of any sort and a fee paid to a referring party or a client. No matter what the situation or who participates in these types of transactions, Spirit Mountain Recovery believes that they are unethical and could be illegal as a type of human trafficking.
