Our fully licensed Inpatient Residential Treatment Program is best suited for those individuals who are able to take time away from their everyday life in order to focus on a uniquely individualized program of contiguous treatment day and night for successive weeks.  Certainly, if you are also suffering from an underlying mental health issue such as anxiety, depression or another condition, we can treat that more completely and effectively in a residential setting.

Our upscale treatment residences are located in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah which greatly fosters healing and recovery. All your meals, beverages and snacks are planned by our Nutritionist.  At Spirit Mountain Recovery you will enjoy all the amenities and atmosphere of a comfortable family home.

Spirit Mountain is a Non 12 Step Treatment Program

Although Spirit Mountain Recovery whole-heartedly embraces the life changing experience that the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 Step Program represents to a certain segment of individuals who have suffered with Substance Abuse, the program is not for everyone. The Company’s approach to treating addiction focuses principally on diagnosing an individual’s co-occurring mental health issues that most often underlie and contribute to their addictive behavior.

Spirit Mountain Recovery's Evidence Based Treatment Programs

Spirit Mountain Recovery’s treatment regimens are in full compliance with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence-based Treatment Programs and Practices. They are as follows:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a common sense, practical approach to problem-solving. The goal is to change patterns of thinking or behaviors underlying a person’s struggles so as to change the way they feel.

Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET)

In MET individuals are counseled to resolve their ambivalence in relation to engaging in treatment and ceasing their use of drugs. The therapeutic approach’s goal is to evoke rapid, internally motivated change, rather than to guide the person step by step through the recovery process.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR was developed in the 1970’s by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. MBSR uses a combination of state of the mind meditation, body awareness, and yoga to assist people in becoming stress free and more in tune with their bodies.

Family Behavior Therapy (FBT)

FBT is a behavioral-based family oriented counseling treatment that is aimed at reducing depression, family discord, school or work absenteeism.

Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT)

This includes a wide range of treatments that involve getting to know and being able to establish mutual trust with horses as a first step in establishing physical and emotional growth in adults principally with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety. It actually does not involve riding the horse, but only bonding with the horse and leading it in a series of ground maneuvers.
